As I sit here and try to write this review there are no words that adequately describe how this story made me feel!
To put it simply I absolutely LOVED IT!! (forever in capitals)
This was my second Audio-book. And was not sure how I was going to handle it with having craving this book so much up until release. But i devoured it. Gave it all my attention and absorbed every word read by the fantastic voices (actors.. unsure what to call them).
After reading Pretty Reckless I was semi prepared to be a little heart broken with this story. But this story needs a warning label (in the best way possible). Warning people that it will emotionally destroy you. Rip your heart out in the worst way only to repair it completely in the best way by the end.
From the first chapter, I felt Luna, Knight and even LJ Shen chinking pieces of my heart away. I have never shed as many tears as i have while listening to this story.
Luna and Knight are childhood best friends, Knight taking on the role of Luna’s protector. From a very young age Knight knew that Luna Rexroth was the love of his life. He would do anything and everything to make Luna happy and keep her safe, only as they grow older into their teenage years things get messy. The lines become blurred of the friendship Knight so desperately wants to change into more and Luna tries to keep the same, while still fiercely loving him.
Both Knight and Luna have damaged souls fighting internal battles. Each imperfect in their own way and i loved that about them. Their chemistry is so intense it almost felt intrusive at times to be listening to their story unfold.
The intense consuming love that they shared with each other and their loved ones was amazing to have experienced..
This story was heart wrenching and even though I cried so much during this book, my heart in tatters. It sparked hope and fulled my heart with life.
This story is not only fulled with anguish but hope and love as well. A story about always living life to the fullest. Never taking family and friends for granted and to love with your whole heart and never give up. To fight for what you want and to give life your full self.
If I take something away from this book it would that no matter what life goes on, no matter how much you want it to stay still, it goes on. So never take a day for granted. Love with your whole heart. Have a sense of hope for the future while you make mistakes.
The sun will always rise in the morning. It has too.
